Cultural Triangle

Where historyrises from the forest.

Sigiriya sits in the heart of the Cultural Triangle, the dry-zone region where Sri Lanka’s ancient kingdoms flourished. The rock fortress — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — towers above forest and water gardens, and the area makes an easy base for the cave temples of Dambulla and the ruined cities of Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura.
